Founded in 1953 with the support of Lions clubs from District 4-L3, the foundation provides programs and services for children and adults who are blind and visually impaired and their families to achieve independence and self-esteem. Annually, the foundation provides services to more than 14,000 individuals that provide education, recreation, training and rehabilitation. Sponsors of Junior Blind Olympics & Summer Games and other programs such as:

  • Camp Bloomfield - for children and teens who are blind and visually impaired and their families.
  • Visions: "Adventures in Learning" - Visions adventures are unique and challenging experiences that empower young people who are blind and visually impaired.
  • Infant-Family Program - An in-home, early-intervention program serving infants with visual impairments and other disabilities, from birth through age 3.
  • Special Education School - A state certified, non-public school offering individualized instruction for students with visual impairments and other disabilities, ages 3-21.
  • Children's Group Homes - The Junior Blind Children’s Group Homes serve the unique needs of children and youth with visual impairments and other disabilities, ages 5-21.
  • Davidson Program for Independence - A daily, comprehensive residential rehabilitation program for adults 18 and over who are newly blind or visually impaired.
